Flanges are essential components in piping systems used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment. They come in various types, each with specific designs and applications. Here are some common types of flanges and their uses:


1. Weld Neck Flange:

2. Slip-On Flange:

3. Socket Weld Flange:

4. Threaded Flange:

5. Blind Flange:

6. Lap Joint Flange:

  - Uses: Lap joint flanges are used in applications where frequent dismantling or inspection of the piping system is required. They allow for easy alignment and assembly of piping components and are commonly used in systems with non-standard pipe sizes or materials.


7. Orifice Flange:

  - Uses: Orifice flanges are used in flow measurement applications, where an orifice plate is installed to measure the flow rate of fluid through the pipeline. They provide a flat, smooth surface for mounting the orifice plate and are commonly used in oil and gas production, chemical processing, and refining industries.


8. Expander Flange:

  - Uses: Expander flanges are used to increase the bore size of the pipeline without changing the flange dimensions. They are commonly used in systems where the pipe diameter needs to be enlarged to accommodate higher flow rates or to reduce pressure drop.


9. Reducing Flange:

  - Uses: Reducing flanges are used to connect pipes of different sizes in the same piping system. They feature a larger bore on one side and a smaller bore on the other side, allowing for a smooth transition between pipes of different diameters.
